Aspiring Interior Designer and Entrepreneur

Growing up just north of Chicago, Michael discovered at a young age that his passion in life was interior design. He credits his parents in helping develop his eye for design through allowing him to make design decisions in their home. In high school, Michael took an interior design class which helped introduce him to interior design concepts and the possibility of pursuing design as a career. Fast forward to college, Michael majored in Art History, with a focus on the portrayal of interiors in twentieth century art. Michael wrote his capstone collaboratively with a distinguished art and architectural history professor titled, Early Twentieth Century Interiors as Seen Through the Paintings of Walter Gay: A Paring Down of Decoration in Search of Authenticity Post Victoriana. Through majoring in Art History, Michael has an excessive knowledge of history that allows him to design interior spaces that both respect and reference the past while pushing the boundaries of modern design. Following his undergraduate career, Michael went on to earn his MA in Interior Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Currently, Michael holds a position as Design Associate at the prestigious full-service interior design firm, Tom Stringer Design Partners.
